資料儲存是什麼?
處理器是運算力的火車頭,數據則是運算的「燃料」,協助處理器執行指令和產出有用的結果。從前,人類把數據提供給電腦的方式,是透過紙製的打孔卡,現在人類發明了HDD、SSD、虛擬和雲端儲存,各種保管數據的方式,都是所謂的資料儲存。
一座資料中心當中,「儲存層」扮演資料儲存的功能,透過RAID(容錯式獨立磁碟陣列)等技術,加強系統的冗餘設計和可靠程度。為了提升可用性,資料中心的管理者要事先擬定災難恢復計畫(DRP),做好資料儲存的風險管理。
儲存裝置的效率及可用性,可透過軟體定義儲存(SDS)等虛擬化技術來提升;或是可結合網路設備,建立網路附加儲存裝置(NAS)或儲存區域網路(SAN)等架構。使用非揮發性記憶體(NVMe)的介面規範,可改善資料傳輸效率。
